The Mammography certificate is designed to provide radiographers with knowledge and basic skills in the practice of mammography. Students will gain didactic knowledge that can be used to fulfill the structured education requirement for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) mammography certification exam.

Additional clinical courses are available for program students who need to fulfill competency requirements to qualify for the ARRT mammography certification examination. Some students may achieve these competencies through their place of employment.

Radiographic Imaging Major

In addition to the general admission requirements for all students, all applicants for the Mammography Certificate program must hold a current RT(R) certification from the ARRT as mammography is a specialization of radiography and the knowledge of x-ray interactions and radiation biology are a necessity for these courses.
