PHL 1011 — Introduction to Philosophy

Introduces learners to the nature, subject matter, and techniques of philosophy. The course begins by defining philosophy and by introducing learners to a variety of standard philosophical tools and techniques leading to an examination of epistemology, philosophy of science, metaphysics, ethics, and political philosophy from a multicultural perspective.

PHL 1300 — Introduction to Ethics

Credit Hours: 3.00   Total Contact Hours: 3.00   Lecture Hours: 3.00  

Introduces the student to theories about the nature and foundations of moral judgments and applications to contemporary moral issues. This course focuses on human conduct and character, emphasizing theories of the good life, the morally good person, morally right action, as well as a critical evaluation of these theories and concepts.
