NSG 2526 — Adult Health II for the Prelicensure BSN
Provides opportunities for students to apply the nursing process in the care of adult clients experiencing common health problems. Emphasis is placed on understanding individual characteristics and human needs related to physiological safety (including immunity, oncology, and nutrition), elimination of bowel and bladder, oxygenation through circulation, and activity and mobility. Evidence-based practice, research-informed decision-making, interprofessional collaboration, and critical thinking are central to the development of safe and effective nursing care. Building upon previously acquired knowledge from applied general education and foundational nursing coursework, students further integrate concepts of leadership, professional communication, and teamwork within diverse healthcare environments. The course also introduces the influence of community health factors on adult patient outcomes, reinforcing the nurse's role in promoting health across settings. Clinical learning experiences in structured environments allow students to practice psychomotor skills, apply clinical judgment, and deliver safe, competent, and patient-centered care. 'C' grade policy applies.
